Mother of Captured F-15E Pilot in Iran Publicly Calls Out Donald Trump for Failing to Honor Her Son, asking for his whereabouts While Trump was Paying Tribute to 13 Troops Killed in Operation Epic Fury on Memorial Day
WASHINGTON — A grieving mother of a U.S. Air Force pilot reportedly captured during Operation Epic Fury publicly criticized President Donald Trump on Memorial Day, accusing the administration of failing to provide answers about her son’s whereabouts while honoring the 13 American troops killed in the Iran conflict.
The emotional confrontation unfolded as Trump attended a solemn ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, where he paid tribute to service members who lost their lives during the escalating military campaign against Iran. During his speech, Trump praised the fallen troops as “heroes who gave everything for America” and vowed that Iran would “never possess a nuclear weapon.”
But outside the ceremony, attention shifted when Linda Carter, the mother of missing F-15E weapons systems officer Capt. Daniel Carter, spoke to reporters through tears, demanding accountability from the White House and Pentagon.
“My son went missing serving this country, and nobody in this administration will tell us if he’s alive, injured, or even where he is,” she said. “The president talks about sacrifice, but our family has been left completely in the dark.”
Capt. Carter was reportedly aboard an F-15E Strike Eagle that was shot down over western Iran during a combat mission earlier this spring. While one crew member was rescued in a high-risk operation, questions remain surrounding the fate of the second airman.
The White House has not publicly commented on Carter’s remarks, though military officials have stated that recovery and intelligence efforts remain ongoing. Defense analysts say the administration faces increasing pressure from military families seeking transparency as casualties from Operation Epic Fury continue to mount.
The incident added a deeply personal and politically sensitive dimension to Memorial Day observances, highlighting the growing emotional toll of the conflict on American military families.
